BioTherm Energy Role

The role BioTherm Energy plays in developing energy projects is that of both project developer and project owner.

As project developer, BioTherm Energy invests equity, raises project specific debt, secures environmental approvals, obtains planning permissions, negotiates long term carbon purchase agreements and offtake agreements, secures engineering, procurement and construction contracts, manages equipment importation, delivery and installation, secures operation and maintenance agreements and also finance agreements and prepares and submits all relevant documentation to the CDM Executive Board.

As project manager after the development of the project, financial close and into the operational phase, BioTherm Energy manages the operations of each project on a day-to-day basis. BioTherm Energy undertakes daily (24/7) equipment monitoring, life-cycle cost management, regular and periodic equipment operation and maintenance, annual CDM project submissions to the CDM Executive Board, ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements, ongoing compliance with finance agreements and administrative and financial management of the business.
